up to the age of 90 he had left more of his mental capacities than 99% of people will ever have at any point during their life.
at the age of 68 now, i feel i a am declining in mental capacities. old dogs and new tricks....
but for as much as i am declining now, the fact that i learned so very many tricks at a younger age makes that i still have more tricks left than 90 % of the people will ever have in their lifetime.
so for me the criterium should not be age, but the ability to perform tricks.
I agree with you that in a perfect world, we would solely measure by ability but I had the two objections above. I'm also one who hates inconsistency, so then we would have to argue whether a minimum age is justified as well.
As of now, 'average life span' may be much lower than projected. I would push to make retirement age to 55 and I bet my rough math is close. I want my money back now. My government was a bad investment.
Your article assumes that the president is actually the one making substantial decisions. I highly doubt that is the case, as a technocratic agenda keeps trucking no matter who is "elected"... How about a constitutional amendment that dismantles deep state institutions and malfeasance instead?
Good idea, but until the vote stealing is addressed, it will make no difference.
They installed Biden and I wonder if they are going to install Fetterman.
Voting is now nothing more than buying a ticket to a theatrical performance.
Age limits for the Supreme Court are more important. Members of the Supreme Court stay until they die.
Age limits for the Supreme Court can be done by Congress passing a law. Age limits for the President would require a Constitutional Amendment.
my father died at the age of 92.

Interesting but the age should be lower ie. 72 so that if one serves two terms the person would reach 80 which is about the average life span.
I was actually trying to suggest you can't start term past 75, so I think we're roughly in the same place. Obviously, exact number is arbitrary.
