For those readers for whom the problem of this reporting (with no qualifiers or adjustments made) does not jump out, a rough analogy is to say the following:
Of the people who drank gatorade during their marathon, 70% drank their 1st cup after completing 20 miles of the marathon
Only 1% of gatorade drinkers quit the race before completing 21 miles.

Wow! Getting vaccinated protects against premature birth in the period PRIOR to when one actually receives the vaccine. I think this pretty much settles it and there's no need to try to rule out confounding variables.
